Web Assignment #4

1. Who was Alfred Stieglitz and why is he noteworthy in the history of photography?
He was an American photographer made photography and acceptable form of art. He also had an art gallery/exhibit. 
2. Choose a photograph he made, upload it to your blog, and explain why you chose it as your favorite by him.
 I chose this image because it makes me think of wintertime and I love winter.

3. With what famous painter was he in a relationship? Who was she?  Upload a painting by her that you like.
Georgia O'Keeffe, She was a famous artist who taught lessons. 
Extra: How did they influence each other in their art making?
They were both artists, and they also would love each other one minute and be fighting the next. Their marriage was like an emotion roller coaster.

The Brownie Camera

1. What is a Brownie Camera?
A brownie camera was a small black rectangular box that takes snapshots. To take a picture you had to hold the camera at waist level, aim it, and flip a switch. 
2. Who invented it?
The Eastman Kodak company invented the new point-and-shoot brownie camera. 
3. How did it change society, and of course, the photography world?
Everybody was able to use the camera instead of just professionals. Everyone could now take pictures of birthday parties and family events.
