What do my your self portraits say about yourself?

I think they say that I'm just happy, because in all of my pictures I have a big smile and it kinda just has a happy vibe (to be at least).

Portrait Project

This is my little sister Ruby. The picture was taken at the zoo, when she begged to have the stamp on her forehead. I thought it was fairly funny so I took a picture of it.

In the 4 photographs above, I took pictures of my little brother for the portrait project. He was in my arms and making funny faces so I figured it'd be good to take pictures of him, not only for the photo assignment, but to remember his faces and have the photos for a long time. 

The photos above are more of Ruby. The first two photos were taken in my home, the second two were taken at a friends house. I took the first two pictures because Ruby was going to be my little model for the assignment, but the last two came naturally. I wanted to take a picture of her eating her popsicle when she was enjoying the last of the warm weather,

Web Assignment #5: Beauty

How would you define beauty in photography?
I would define beauty in photography as highlighting ones features that are distinct or unique; something memorable
What are the characteristics of photographic beauty
I just think it has to be something unique and something that makes people look at it and think about it.
Can something "ugly" be photographed and be considered beautiful? Why? How? Examples?
Yes, like in the war. There have been plenty of photographs taken during the war. I think war is an ugly thing but some pictures come out very nice
